What is Gifted & Present? | About Us

Marcie Greene

We believe a gift allows you to stay present with loved ones, near and far

As a midwestern-transplant living in Brooklyn, sending gifts to friends and family is the way I stay present in their lives without being physically close. But finding the time to shop, wrap and ship gifts has always been a challenge.

The tipping point came when I sent a baby gift so late the recipient had grown out of it - and from that experience Gifted & Present was born! A way to shop for beautiful, multi-faceted gifts and have them easily sent in fun packaging with a hand-written note.

We believe gift-giving isn't just for holidays

Through my 15+ years in the retail industry, I am constantly coming across products that make me think "that would be the perfect gift for her" or "if I had that occasion, this would be the perfect thing to give." Beautiful, interesting products that would surprise and delight the right recipient.

The thing is, everyday is an occasion to let someone know you are thinking about them - especially when you can't see them in person. I love that feeling you get when an unexpected package comes in the mail, and I want Gifted & Present to help other people share that feeling, too.

That's one reason we made shipping costs easy - flat rate $5 shipping, and free shipping for all purchases over $50. So anyone can send a "thinking of you" gift, any day of the year (without worrying the price will double with shipping when you get to the checkout!)

We believe it should be as easy to send a presentable gift as it is to give it in person...

...which is why everything ships in our "celebration packaging" - a fun exterior shipping envelope or box (no corrugated brown here!), and every gift big or small is sent wrapped in a G&P drawstring bag with a handwritten note. Just the way you would give it if you could be there in person.

We believe shopping small is a gift in and of itself

We are a small business - which is why we like to work with other small business. We hustle together and support each other. We all have stories, which I think makes the products offered that much richer in meaning. For these reasons Gifted & Present sources from independent makers when we can (mommapreneurs, if you will), creating a support system as well as a gifting service. These makers' stories are featured in the description of the products they offer - take a look to see the love that went into your gift.

We believe in the power of gift-giving. Give a gift. Stay present.
